Laser eye surgery

Laser recovery time, explained simply

When people hear “laser eye surgery,” one of the first questions they ask is, “How long will I be out of action?” The good news? For most of our patients, the answer is: not long at all.

Here’s a simple guide to what you can expect, depending on your procedure and your body’s natural healing pace.

Day 1: Your free assessment

Come in for your consultation. It’s non-invasive, takes about an hour, and we’ll tell you honestly if you’re suitable, and which procedure is best for you.

Day 2: Your laser procedure

Book the same week, or any day in the future that suits you. You’ll arrive and go home the same day: no overnight stays, no hospital gowns, no needles. Just numbing drops, expert care, and a supportive team by your side.

Day 3 and Beyond: The return to normal life

Here’s where it varies slightly, depending on your procedure:

🔹 LASIK

Many patients see clearly within hours, and are back to work or daily life the very next day, straight after their check-up appointment with us.

🔹 SmartSight

Expect a next-day bounce-back, with steady improvements in clarity over the following days.

🔹 TPRK

This one’s a little slower - most patients take a week or two to feel fully ready. Your vision may be blurry at first but will gradually sharpen with rest and recovery.

A note on vision quality

Your vision might not be at its final best straight away, that’s totally normal. It continues getting even better over the following days, weeks and even months, as your eyes settle and heal.

What’s consistent for everyone?

  • All procedures are walk-in-walk-out procedures: no overnight stay
  • You’ll go home with clear instructions and aftercare support
  • Your post-op appointments are included in the cost
  • You’ll get a 24-hour contact number if you need extra help

Want to make it happen this week?

Yes, really. We offer free assessments six days a week and often have laser appointments available within days.
